About Lee

Lee has lived in Redbridge for most of his life and he and his children were educated locally. He is married to Estelle and they live at the family home in the constituency. 

He spent most of his working life as a fundraiser for a major charity and continues to assist a number of important national and international charities. He maintains his active ongoing interest in many community groups and organisations. These include Interface, British Tamils and numerous faith based bodies.

Lee was elected to Parliament for Ilford North in 2005 and was re-elected in 2010. He previously served as a Councillor on the London Borough of Redbridge.

In Parliament Lee has served as a member of the Transport Select Committee and the Health Select Committee. He has served as PPS to the Secretary of State for Transport and more recently to the Lord Chancellor/Secretary of State for Justice. On 14th October 2014 the Regulatory Reform Committee of the House of Commons appointed Lee as Chair.

He campaigns in support of youth with special needs and is a champion of the interests of our Tamil community.
